As cold weather sneaks on in, I find it harder and harder to actually go shopping, especially with 2 kids under 4 years old. It was one thing to be trudging through two feet of snow with a 3 year old, but add a 6 week old baby to that and you have yourself a mess!! That’s precisely why I’ve started online shopping. This way I don’t have to worry about the baby because he’ll be right here with me!

I’ve been looking for jewelry for the upcoming season so I went onto ShopNBC to peruse their jewelry selection. They have plenty of gold jewelry to choose from, which is my metal of choice. I also liked how they had different stones and gems like tiger eye, citrine, marcasite, and larimar. I found this ring made out of black onyx and 14k gold which I am in love with! I think it would make a great Christmas present for my mom. It also came in howlite, which if you don’t know looks a bit like marble. I just preferred this one because it’s much more eye-catching.

I’m so glad that the technology we have is advanced as it is today. I am so glad I can stay at home and shop online. Believe me, it’s much easier sitting down on my cozy couch shopping online than dragging 2 kids through the stores. I think it’s great that a lot of stores are jumping on the bandwagon and offering special discounts for buying online. Now we don’t have to wait in ridiculously long lines just to pay for a pair of socks, especially since the holiday season is fast approaching! Seriously consider doing most of your Christmas shopping online this year!

My Eyes Sparkle With Glamor Courtesy of Zenni Optical – A Review

I recently got the opportunity to get a pair of glasses from Zenni Optical to review. I wear glasses occasionally, but not often enough that i felt like I needed a second pair. So I decided to get a pair of glasses for my handsome husband instead.

We spent about a half an hour browsing their selection and decided to get something completely different than what my husband would normally wear for glasses.

I couldn’t believe the prices! Glasses starting at just $8 and the most expensive pairs are only $30! I didn’t even know they could make glasses that inexpensive. After my husband and I agreed on a pair of Tailored Acetate Full-Rim Frame Glasses (#442115) in brown marble ($30), we carefully put in his prescription, added them to the cart and then added a pair of clip on polarized 80% sunshades for only $3.95 extra! After seeing how cheap the order was, we decided to grab an extra pair while we were at it and had his prescription out and everything. We chose a pair of $8.00 glasses – the Metal Alloy / Stainless Steel Full-Rim Frame Glasses (#411521) in black and got a pair of sunshades to go with those too.

So two pairs of glasses, 2 pairs of sunshades, shipping & handling and we got to checkout for less than $60!! Isn’t that amazing? Not only that, the glasses arrived in less than 2 weeks. My husband was really satisfied with the full-rim frame glasses and wears them all the time now. They fit him perfect and I think he looks quite handsome in them… if I do say so myself! He wasn’t as crazy about the $8 glasses because they didn’t fit him quite right, but I think we can probably alter them to make them wearable. Overall, I think we’re both really satisfied with the whole experience.

One thing I notice in particular is that people don’t take advantage of the tremendous savings to be found online. We clip coupons and find rebates for our local stores, but for some of the biggest purchases we still go to brick and mortar stores when we could be saving big by shopping online. Going on a big chain store’s website can yield pretty good savings by itself, but using a coupon and cash back site can give even better results. One of these sites that I found recently is CouponCactus.com, which offers online coupons and coupon codes for 3000+ of stores, including some of my favorites.
