5 Spring Nail Colors To Flip For
Forget the dark, vampy colors of fall – this spring, it’s all about brightening things up. Treat your tips and toes to one of these five spring nail colors – or all of them – and get ready to “spring” into a sunnier state of mind.

1. HOT Coral
Coral looks lovely on all skin tones, and is the perfect bright to wear this spring. Plus, nail color is a great way to wear look-at-me colors without feeling overwhelmed. A few to try:
- Sephora by OPI in I’m Wired, $9.50, Sephora.com
(pictured)
- NYX Salon Nail Polish in Hot Coral, $3.60, Cherryculture.com
- Essie Nail Color in Too Too Hot, $8, Beauty.com

2. Lilac
As far as pastels go, lilac is the clear winner this spring. Keep your hands well moisturized when wearing this shade, though – lilac tones can make skin look ashy. A few to try:
- Essie Nail Color in St. Lucia Lilac, $3.99, Amazon
- butter London Nail Lacquer in Muggins, $14, Macy’s (pictured)
- Zoya Nail Polish in Malia, $6, ShampooLine.com

3. Beige
Neutrals never go out of style, and that’s more true this season than ever before. If you’re tired of pastels but too timid for brights, a beige polish is the perfect compromise – and it looks very chic, to boot. Our favorites:
- Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle Nail Color in Bold Buff, $5.50, Drugstore.com
- Orly Nail Polish in Nite Owl, $8, thebeautyclutch.com
- Sonia Kashuk Nail Colour in Sugar Rush, $4.79, Target (pictured)

4. Turquoise
Shades of turquoise nail color were seen all over spring runways, and it’s a modern and very fashion-forward color to choose. Whether worn on fingers or toes, this bold bright will liven up any outfit. Three to try:
- Essie Nail Color in Turquoise and Caicos, $8, Drugstores
- Sinful Colors Nail Enamel in Rise and Shine, $2.50, Cherryculture.com (pictured)
- Julep Nail Lacquer in Amy, $14, Julep.com

5. Fuchsia
Forget barbie pinks – this season, fuchsia is the go-to girly shade with a fierce edge. Whether you choose a bold, look-at-me shade or one with a hint of shimmer or glitter, you’ll be right on trend all season long. Our picks:
- Love & Beauty Nail Polish in Fuchsia, $2.80, Forever21 (pictured)
- China Glaze in Fuchsia Fanatic, $7, Ulta
- Deborah Lippman in Between The Sheets, $16, Neiman Marcus
Which nail color is your favorite for this season?
Get the Look: Taylor Swift for CoverGirl

This look would work well for an evening out – a dramatic cat eye and bold, look-at-me red lips. If you want to nab Taylor Swift’s glam look for yourself, check out these simple tips and product recommendations from CoverGirl.
FACE
Using a foundation brush or wedge sponge, smooth CoverGirl Natureluxe Foundation over your face, beginning at the center of your face and sweeping outwards for flawless coverage.
EYES
Using LineExact Liquid Liner in Very Black, trace a fine line along upper lashes. The goal here is to gradually increase the thickness of the line. Make sure to flick upwards once you reach the outer corner of your eye for the coveted cat-eye look.
Once you’ve lined the upper lashline, finish with at 2-3 coats of CoverGirl Lash Perfection Mascara in Very Black on both upper and lower lashes.
LIPS
To get Taylor’s bold lip look, start by lining lips with CoverGirl Lip Perfection Liner Pencil in Radiant. Stay to the outside edges of your lips, but fill them in completely with liner for a fuller look.
Next, fill in lips with CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Burn. Applying color directly from the tube, start at the center of your lips and work outward for even coverage.
Using 5 products from CoverGirl, you can have Taylor Swift’s look for yourself. All products available at drugstore.com. Have fun playing with your new look!

The Most Amazing Make Up…Ever…
About a million years ago when I was in high school, Clinique came out with a Lip Shine that wasn’t a matte lipstick or a gloss, but a combination of the two, which instantly became a hit with women everywhere. One of the colors offered was #16, Black Honey. What was so amazing about this particular color is that it flatters EVERYONE – regardless of your skin tone or eye color or your lip shape and texture. Black Honey is probably one of make up history’s great all time achievements! And now the color is being translated in to a Shimmering Tones Powder that may rank up there as make up history’s all time great achievement #2.

Clinique Shimmering Tones Powder in Black Honey
Clinique’s Black Honey Shimmering Tones Powder is a limited edition, multitone powder. The cult favorite Black Honey shimmers in this beautifully blended powder, instantly creating a sheer, subtle radiance that looks great on everyone, just like the classic that inspired it.
Believe me, this powder is like magic. I’ve been sick for the past few days, and when I looked in the mirror this morning my skin resembled a cross between the Crypt Keeper and Princess Fiona (after she married Shrek…) Two swipes of this shimmering powder and, damn, if I didn’t look healthy and vibrant! It’s even better on a good day, giving you just enough sparkle that people say, “Wow, you look great…did you cut your hair or something…?” I don’t know what it is about the Black Honey color, but it does something magical and it works for everyone and with every skin tone.
Available for a limited time only through Sephora, Shimmering Tones Powder in Black Honey retails for $32.50 – and it’s well worth the investment!

Doesn’t it make you NUTS when you’re trying to get the last valuable drops of your favorite (and super expensive) lotion or potion out of the container but it just won’t budge? I was given a bottle of La Mer Concentrate that clocks in at a whopping $375 for 1.7 oz (yes, you read that right…) and thanks to Beauty Spoon, I have extended the life of the Concentrate by at least a week, maybe more, because this handy tool always seems to find just a tiny bit more product tucked in the deep recesses of the bottle! If you are frustrated by tossing bottles and jars that still have days worth of beauty in them, I highly recommend the Beauty Spoon.
