Miracle Skin Transformer Sephora Launch Event

We were so sad we missed the Miracle Skin Transformer Sephora Event in NYC but since we had the opportunity to check out the pics, we thought we would share with you ladies. It looked like tons of fun, and while we missed out on that night, we can certainly relive it through photos. Guests at the launch event enjoyed munching on cupcakes from Baked by Melissa, sipping on champagne, and watching Sarah McNamara, creator of Miracle Skin Transformer, give instant makeovers to eager customers and fans in the crowd. Free consultations were also given by Sephora’s trained staff.

Have you tried Miracle Skin Transformer? We have and we certainly do like it a lot. For starters, hello SPF 20… I know that this fair skin needs a great base SPF every day and Miracle Skin Transformer has got that covered. What else do we like? We can talk about the way it seems to fill in my pores and smooth things out. With a slight tint (mine is obvi “Light”), this baby gives your skin an instant even look. My sometimes blotchy and often uneven skin tone appreciates you, Miracle Skin Transformer. Believe it or not, I felt like this was good replacement for my foundation which can sometimes look caked on, especially if I have some blemishes to cover up. MST doesn’t cake and is soft when you applying. Try it and you’ll see exactly what I am talking about. I have also tried the Treat and Conceal from the same line… just as awesome.

Dr. Remedy’s Instant Cover

I was lucky enough to be able to try Dr. Remedy’s Instant Cover , $40.00 (in Light shade of course) and thought I would report back to you ladies on what I thought. Obvi, I am always looking for the latest and greatest so I will give anything a shot once.

When I first received it, I was totally impressed by the size of the tube. In my experience, concealer type products always come in very small tubes and are to be used sparingly. This was a tube that I wasn’t afraid to squeeze, if you know what I mean.

Surprisingly, upon taking the cap off, I realized that this was not squeeze onto your hand concealer but rather there was a built in application sponge, which I thought was pretty cool. So what did I think of the actual coverage? Well, to be honest, I have seen and felt better. That being said, for the amount you get, I didn’t hate to use it… but when I think of coverage, I want skin tone evening coverage. With Dr. Remedy’s Instant Cover, I guess I was expecting more tint, more even coverage. I felt like the Instant Cover was more of a primer than a concealer.

When I tried using this as a primer, then I noticed the quality in the product. This was a great base for my foundation and seemed to last all day. It’s not too heavy and while I wished it left my face feeling smoother, it does the trick.

All in all, I would like see how ladies who used the medium and deep tones felt about this product? I feel like maybe I had the experience I did based on my fair skin tone and therefore Light product. Has anyone tried Dr. Remedy’s Instant Cover? If so, what did you think?

First Ever Unretouched Ad Camapaign from Make Up For Ever!

You’re looking at the gorgeous ad for Make Up For Ever spring 2011. The very first unretouched make-up ad! I think it looks amazing!!

Creator, and Artistic Director Dany Sanz came up for the concept of this shoot and everything was shot in Paris back in December 2010. The shoot was certified by a notary public as not being digitally retouched, so that there would be no dispute. Look how real and stunning the model looks!

Make Up For Ever launched this campaign to show women that we can be flawless without resorting to digital retouching. It’s no secret that camera’s can pick-up on imperfections, especially when there’s tons of lights highlighting them, but the Make up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation range can give you flawless results without any digital enhancement. It’s basically a retouching in a bottle! Celebrities get this done to achieve perfection and come across looking almost anamatronic. In recent years it has truly gotten out of hand. Product Review: almay intense i-color smoky-i kit

So Kate Hudson looks absolutely gorgeous in her new ads for Almay, am I right? Well, she is gorgeous anyway but I have definitely been giving Almay more attention then I had in the past. I did a review over on The Fashionable Gal about the Almay wake-up makeup (which I looooooove) and just recently decided to try the intense i-color smoky kit because I want to achieve the radiance that Kate Hudson exudes… or at least what I can muster! Guess what? I LOVED it too! It comes in shades designed for your eye color, is easy to apply and lasted all my workday long. Not only that? My eyes POPPED! My blue eyes are usually pretty fierce but this eyeshadow definitely took it up a notch!

Quick and Easy Beauty Tips for a Better You

I love checking out quick and easy tricks to add to my beauty regime. The easier the better; you can learn them quick and adopt them even quicker! I had to share some of the tips that my favorites at Marie Claire have put out there and paired those tips with some of my favorite products!

TIP

Trying to look like you had your 8 hours when you tossed and turned all night? Avoid piling on the thick foundation. Use a tinted moisturizer instead, followed by maybe a beige eye pencil — it counteracts any redness and puffiness around your eyes. My suggestion? Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint SPF 15, $27.00

TIP

For full lips go for a glossy look, Yum! Try first outlining the perimeter of your lips using a concealer brush dipped in bronzer two shades deeper than your skin tone. Then, top pout with gold, peach, or coral gloss. Mmmmmm, I like Cover Girl Raspberry Wet Slicks Fruit Spritzers, $5.99

TIP

This is a tip on making your smallish eyes, open right up! You’ll want to stay away from dark eyeshadows out there. Start with a nude base shadow, then apply shadow a shade or two darker than the base to your crease and use your finger to blend the color up toward your eyebrow. All in one favorite, Jane Iredale Perfectly Nude Eyeshadow Kit, $52.oo, makes this an easy trick!

TIP

When you are covering up blemishes, make sure you choose the color for what you are covering up. For example, orange-tinged concealers combat blueish under-eye circles. A mint-green concealer hides the redness of a pimple or blemish. The idea is that concealers act as neutralizers. When I have a nasty looking blemish, I attack it with Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Redness Concealer, $20.00

TIP

I had to be converted to toner but now that I have been, I am a loyal user. To sop up oil and refresh makeup, lightly mist your face with toner, then pat with a tissue. You then can finish with a dusting of your favorite loose powder. My first and overall favorite toner has to be Aveda All Sensitive Toner, $25.00
