Rebecca Minkoff Sale Starts Today

Well, it’t that time of year again…time for the Rebecca Minkoff After Christmas on-line sale. The sale begins at noon today (12/26) and runs through Thursday (12/29).

What I love about this sale is the merchandise is updated at least daily, so if you aren’t crazy about what you see one day, check back later and maybe your dream bag or shoe is on sale. This year I’m hoping to score a black Mini M.A.C. Clutch.

All I Want for Christmas…

Every year I ask Santa for an Hermes Kelly Bag, and every year he forgets! I can’t imagine why. He remembers almost everything else that my family asks for, but this glaring omission is becoming conspicuous! Maybe I should send him the link to Portero Luxury. This week they have dozens of pre-owned Birkin and Kelly bags on sale. My favorite one is the rare Black Crocodile Kelly, 32cm size, on sale for $32,000. That’s 41% off the retail price of $55,000! What a steal!

5 Hot Handbags for Fall

I try to switch my bag up every season, but I normally end up doing it more frequently – I have somewhat of a handbag obsession! If you’re looking for a new bag (or two, or three…) for fall, check out my top 5 handbag picks this season.

Angelina’s Look: What Do You Think?

Heaven knows I have been critical of Angelina Jolie’s style in the past, most notably when she went through that drab blouson phase in 2009. (And, yes, I know we all remember her Oscar-winning Gothic horror, but since that was ages ago, we ought to let bygones be bygones. I certainly don’t like being judged for my 90s’ style choices.)

So when I saw the Yahoo headline “Angelina’s Odd Fashion Statement,” I clicked through with that gleeful dread you feel when you think you might see something really wacky. I mean, “odd” is such a suggestive word when it comes to style.

But I was surprised to see this:

I don’t find that odd at all. She looks great. Apparently, there was some quibbling over her Louis Vuitton Lockit PM Devotion clutch, specifically its handcuff-inspired detail. First of all, if I had roughly 2 million children, I would need to cuff all my accessories to my body. Perhaps even surgically attach them. And secondly, it reminds me more of the Cartier LOVE bracelet than actual handcuffs. Overall I’d call the look sleek, confident, and intriguing.

Plus, a classic black dress with a fascinating, statement-making accessory is probably my all-time favorite formal look. And for those of us who have to do without a movie star’s salary and perks, it’s budget-friendly, allowing you to invest in one timeless LBD and rotate accessories as trends change.

So I’m giving Angelina a big thumbs-up here. But what do you think? Does the handcuff part creep you out? Or, like me, do you see it as a cheeky detail that sets her look apart?
