Latest Obsession: Peter Som for Kohl’s

The Peter Som Collection for Kohl’s hit stores on April 10th, so the next day, I headed to my local Kohl’s to check out the new Kohl’s DesigNation in person. It was a long drive, but totally worth it!!!

Oh. My. Gosh! Everything is just so amazing… I wanted one of everything!!! It was too hard to choose just ONE thing, so I didn’t get anything at all and I’m kicking myself for it. Hoping I will get one of those 30% off things from Kohl’s soon and then I will head back and grab these Charmeuse Soft Pants ($37.50).

Here are just a few of my favorite pieces from the collection…

What’s your favorite piece? Are you loving this collection as much as I am?

Monday’s Impulsive Splurge on J.Crew

I never even visit the JCrew website because I pretty much love everything they have and can’t excuse spending that much money on any of it!

But this morning, while perusing one of my favorite fashion blogs, I spotted a silky chambray tunic that I couldn’t live without, regardless of the price.

And then I spotted some lightweight washed chambray pants that I also needed to own…

jcrew splurge

Now of course, I don’t shop anywhere online without going through Ebates.com. Then I make sure I either find a coupon code to accommodate the items in my cart OR I wait until there is a sale or another promotion before I complete the checkout process on the items in my cart.

I kinda lucked out this time with J.Crew because right now they are having a Spring Sale. You can get 30% off all sale items and 50% off final sale items with coupon code FRESHSALE.

So here’s the breakdown…

Chambray Tunic: Originally $98.00 / on sale for $69.99 / $48.99 after coupon code

Chambray Pants: Originally $78.00 / on sale for $68.00 / $47.60 after coupon code

By shopping through Ebates I will get 3% cashback on my order ($2.89) which will help cover the $5 shipping fee I had to pay because my order did not exceed $150.

Because I don’t usually shop at J.Crew, I am unfamiliar with their returns process so I just hope everything fits perfect and meets my expectations!

I probably should have just waited till I went to Marshalls or TJ Maxx again to get some chambray pieces for my wardrobe, but I didn’t want to wait! And I absolutely fell in love with that damn chambray tunic…

Being 36 weeks pregnant, I could use just about ANYTHING to lift my spirits and make myself feel better and knowing I can wear that silky chambray tunic in a few weeks after the baby is born, pretty much made my day. #forthewin

The Nautical Trend: Nursing Moms Edition

Nautical Trend for Nursing Mothers

Nautical Trend for Nursing Mothers by thehousewife featuring eBags and Caroline Hill Collection

I’m totally into the nautical trend right now and have invested in several ridiculously cute JoJo nursing tops and a nice navy stripe nursing dress to make nursing AND trendy a cinch.

I can pair just about any of it with my new Michael Kors Gold Marina Grab Bag from eBags. It’s classically nautical so no matter what you wear with it, you are going to look sea-side ready. I absolutely ADORE this bag! It’s classy, chic and perfect for Spring and Summer. I can’t wait to rock this bag all summer long!!!!

Be sure to check out eBags.com to find this bag and many other designer handbags from big brands like Michael Kors, which is a super hot brand right now. I’m pretty sure Michael Kors is “the” it brand for 2014 because I’ve seen more MK bags on people than Coach bags for the past couple weeks. Luckily, eBags has a huge selection of MK bags at great prices. Be sure to check them out!

How To Wear Bright Colors for Spring

It’s time to pack away those dark, wintery colors and bring on the pastels, neons and other bright colors for spring! We are seeing more bright colors than ever this season but it can be overwhelming if you are used to wearing neutrals. Don’t worry, incorporating bright colors into your spring wardrobe is easier (and less circus-like) than you think!

HOW TO WEAR BRIGHT PANTS:

Pair brightly colored jeans or pants with a basic striped tee, a chambray shirt or denim jacket and nude flats. Easiest outfit EVER.

HOW TO WEAR BRIGHT SHOES:

Pair bright shoes with denim skinnies, neutral blouse or tee (think white, gray, nude, pale pink), a neutral blazer (like navy, black, dark gray) and a brightly colored necklace or other bright accessories for a hint of color in your ensemble. Check out the bright accessories below for ideas!

HOW TO WEAR BRIGHT ACCESSORIES:

If you are afraid of color, start with some fun, brightly colored accessories like this coral scarf or yellow bubble necklace. Pair them with anything you would normally wear from a sundress to jeans. Mix and match! I like to carry a bright bag or colorful wallet like the one above from MyWalit. It just screams happiness!

HOW TO WEAR BRIGHT DRESSES:

If you are ready to pull out the big guns this spring, shop for a brightly colored dress in one of this season’s hottest hues like neon yellow or bright pink. Pair with a denim jacket or neutral colored blazer and nude heels for a look that is both fashion forward and ready for spring!

Whats your favorite way to wear bright colors? Are you afraid to step outside your comfort zone?

What are Juils?

You know that feeling you get when you are walking barefoot in the grass or on the beach? You get that same “feel good” mood-lifting effect from wearing Juil’s Footwear. Wearing Juil’s is like the next best thing to being barefoot.

I reviewed a pair of JUIL Mesa sandals last spring and honestly, I wore them ALL SUMMER LONG. They became my favorite pair of sandals. I even found myself wearing them around the house as slippers… So comfortable and actually just quite addictive.

Aren’t they cute?!

So of course I was dying to try a pair of their new ballet flats! I received the Juil The Wing Tip Women’s Ballet Flat, one of three ballet flats they now offer in addition to their large selection of sandals.

juil the wing tip flats

First off, these flats are wicked cute! What’s not to love? Perfect shade of brown, soft and supple design, stretchy elastic to keep them on and a cute wing tip design on the toe. Absolutely just the cutest flats I’ve seen in a while!

I got size 7 (I normally wear a size 7 in flats and 7.5 in other styles, but they only come in whole sizes). Well, I should have gotten size 8 I think! I recommend if you wear a half size that you size up because these do run a big snug. Just something to keep in mind!

Price: $99

Each pair of JUIL shoes are made with their exclusive Energy Flow Technology™, containing copper conductors (cute little dots) that connect your bare toes directly through the outsoles. The aim of Juil footwear is to create a free-flowing connection between you and the earth. This type of connection is rejuvenating your energies with each and every step, all day long.
