Sperry Boat Shoes are THE shoes of the season right now! Everyone is wearing them and there are so many cute styles to choose from. I personally love leopard print so when I spotted these Sperry’s on FamousFootwear.com I knew I had to have them.

It took me three days of continuous wear to break them in, first day with thin socks. Now, they are super comfortable and I wear them all the time. I slip them on to run outside and hang laundry, I put them on to run to the store, or I put together a cute outfit to go with them, like the outfit above.

How To Wear Bright Colors for Spring

It’s time to pack away those dark, wintery colors and bring on the pastels, neons and other bright colors for spring! We are seeing more bright colors than ever this season but it can be overwhelming if you are used to wearing neutrals. Don’t worry, incorporating bright colors into your spring wardrobe is easier (and less circus-like) than you think!

HOW TO WEAR BRIGHT PANTS:

Pair brightly colored jeans or pants with a basic striped tee, a chambray shirt or denim jacket and nude flats. Easiest outfit EVER.

HOW TO WEAR BRIGHT SHOES:

Pair bright shoes with denim skinnies, neutral blouse or tee (think white, gray, nude, pale pink), a neutral blazer (like navy, black, dark gray) and a brightly colored necklace or other bright accessories for a hint of color in your ensemble. Check out the bright accessories below for ideas!

HOW TO WEAR BRIGHT ACCESSORIES:

If you are afraid of color, start with some fun, brightly colored accessories like this coral scarf or yellow bubble necklace. Trend Alert for Spring – Blazers!

Tips on how to wear blazers!

I absolutely love Blazers! It’s a mom-must-have item because no matter what you wear (within reason) a blazer makes everything look better. Have to run errands but you don’t feel like changing out of that comfy T-shirt and jeans? No problem! Just throw on a blazer! Go from frump to fabulous in record time. Every woman should have at least 2 blazers in her closet. One black, one white. It’s best to stick with neutrals at first so that you can wear your blazer with anything.

If you can only afford to invest in ONE structured blazer, we’re loving this navy blue Vince Camuto Medallion Blazer ($101) via Nordstrom.

If you aren’t a beginner blazer-wearing fashionista, then indulge in a new blazer in a pastel color, cool stripes, floral print or a light weight material that will be the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe!

How To Wear Blazers

LEATHER: Leather blazers go with just about anything in my book. (Even faux leather!) You can wear them with jeans and a tee or over a dress to add a rough edge.

MOTORCYCLE STYLE: I also think that moto-style blazers also go with darn near anything. Course, that’s part of my own personal style! The nice thing about motorcycle jackets is that they are becoming more mainstream and are available in a variety of different materials and textures like this Free People Tapestry Moto Jacket.

BRIGHT COLORS: Bright colored blazers are a great choice for spring! It ads a nice pop to a neutral outfit that is perfect for the warmer weather. Colors to consider are cobalt blue, emerald green, coral, orange and pink. You can also go for pastel shades of the same color for a more subtle look.

WITH SHORTS: I’m loving the spring trend of wearing blazers with shorts. Right now it’s still a bit on the cool side here in New England, so tights are a must with shorts. It’s still an easy look to pull off and doesn’t require a lot of prep. A perfect option for a busy mom that wants to look hip!

Outfit Ideas: Neon Jeans with Oxfords

I surfed Pinterest to get some ideas of what to wear with oxfords and decided I would just do my own thing… No use in searching for how to wear oxfords when I can just put them on with something cute and see if it works! It’s sunny, in the 50′s outside so it felt like a neon jeans kind of day. Enter a cool motorcycle tee and a chambray button down for my casual weekend look. I think the oxfords work with this outfit, how about you?

I went “all out” and spent 20 minutes doing a smokey eye with Urban Decay Smoked Palette and my new favorite mascara – Boots No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara in Black – $8.

The Jafa Mary Janes are a key component to this outfit being “mom friendly”. These shoes are part of Jafa’s new spring line and are not only super comfortable (and come in lots of colors besides just red) but they are handmade in Israel with incredible attention to detail. If you are looking for something comfortable, that you can run around and chase your kiddos in, these are the ticket.

If you don’t have small children and prefer to wear heels, switch the comfy mary janes out for these Red High Heels ($26) with double strap across the foot, and flower accent at the side. Or maybe you’d prefer Red Patent Ballet Flats ($52) with a cute bow on the toe. Either way, a bright red shoe is key to this outfit!
