Emergin C Tinted Blemish Control Drying Lotion Review

We had the opportunity to try Emergin C’s Blemish Control Drying Lotion and couldn’t wait to let you guys know what we thought of it. No matter what age, I am sure we can all relate with blemishes and annoying breakouts. I would want you to share your fave products with me so here I am sharing a fave product with you darlings!

Emergin C Tinted Blemish Control Drying Lotion

Formulated with salicylic acid, zinc oxide and sulfur, this triple-action lotion helps reduce the size, severity and discoloration of pimples for a clearer complexion. Sulfur dries out the pimples while salicylic acid purges the pores of debris. Zinc oxide and camphor fight acne-causing bacteria to reduce inflammation and irritation. With correct use, the complexion will become clearer, smoother and more beautiful.

skin types: For breakouts, problem areas.
use: 1-2 times a day.
results: Rapidly dries up breakouts.
active ingredients: Zinc oxide, sulfur, camphor, salicylic acid.
application tips: Don’t over use.
size: 30 ml

So what did we think?

Dude, this stuff is no joke. At first, I was a little taken aback because I had convinced myself that it was more a foundation than it was a blemish fighter. I had to shake my bottle up to mix it (be careful it doesn’t shoot out at you) so that it’s all evenly dispersed in the bottle. This is tinted, yes, but I am sure is not meant to serve as a foundation because it kicked butt getting rid of some of my unruly blemishes. It zapped my zits in no time, as in I put it on my chin and shoulder before bed (yes ocassionally I have blemishes places other than my face) and it was noticeably reduced in the morning. I used it again after my shower and the redness was even better that evening. This is the real deal. Now in the application tips it says not to overuse and I would assume that is due to it possibly drying your skin out, so that would be my only recommendation as far as what I would think would concern me about this product. I have had GREAT luck with is so far and am definitely going to keep it handy for pesky pimply visitors that come a calling!

Whish Body Products, Luxury for your Skin!

Whish body products offered us the opportunity to highlight some of their pretty great products, here on The Fashionable Housewife. We obviously jumped at the chance because as women, we are always looking for the next great beauty product and you won’t find it unless you try all sorts of different stuff. Whish offers a great line of products from body scrubs and lotions all the way to luxury shave products (because we all need those!).

Whish Sugar Scrub, $38.00 EXFOLIATES- Bamboo Powder– an exfoliant that is loaded with minerals and natural silica to moisturize. Raspberry Seed – loaded with anti-oxidants that are a great natural exfoliator. Brown Sugar & Organic Sugar Cane – When brown sugar and organic sugar cane are combined with the bamboo powder and raspberry seed that result in an all natural, effective and moisturizing exfoliant. MOISTURIZES- Organic Shea Butter, Organic Aloe, Organic Raspberry Butter easily absorb into the skin to provide triple the moisture. RENEWS- Vitamin E and organic avocado oil combine to leave the skin young and bright with a daily dose of anti-oxidants.

OUR VERDICT?- Sweet smelling and does a great job of scrubbing off that excess skin for a smooth as a baby’s bottom feel. Also, this product does not leave granules at the bottom of the tub as with some of my other body scrubs.

Three Whishes Body Butter, $24.00 MOISTURIZES- Organic Aloe– a soothing, natural anti-septic with anti-bacterial properties, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties. Organic Shea Butter – has a high content of non-saponifiable fats that are the best natural skin moisturizers and are also high in anti-oxidants. Organic Raspberry Butter – high in anti-oxidants, this attacks free radicals making it a magical moisturizer. FIRMS- Organic Seaweed Extract– loaded with firming peptides and anti-oxidants. PURIFIES- Organic Rice Bran Oil – very high in tocotrienols; a super anti-oxidant that can be 30 times more powerful than vitamin E and early studies have shown prevents skin cancer and improves sun screen efficiency.

 OUR VERDICT?- Mmmmm, also sweet smelling! While I didn’t notice any huge differences between this “body butter” or other lotions, I definitely love something that has a great smell like this. It also did it’s job as far as moisturizing, so I will give it my thumbs up.

Clean + Green Product Giveaway

This, of course, makes me want to go shopping for Spring florals so that once the warm weather even remotely hits, that I can sport a fabulous dress thats on trend and in my budget. I took a look around to try and find the floral trend for less and believe me when I say that there is plenty to be had by all!

Elite Fashion Swimwear Review Spring 2012

I know, I know… you don’t even want to begin thinking about swimsuit season yet… and neither did I! Then Elite Fashion Swimwear offered us he opportunity to start the season a little early by getting a sneak peek at their Jolidon swimsuits line. I, myself, am a fan of slimming one pieces. This doesn’t mean that I don’t own a bikini but more often then not, I am on the go when I am in a swimsuit (ie swimming with Dolphins, playing at water parks, bringing the dog to the pond). So wearing a one piece means you can’t be sexy. TOTALLY UNTRUE! Elite Fashion Swimwear has a wide variety of swimsuits that seem functional and sassy! Here take a look:

I am the proud owner of the slimming black one piece on the left. Ladies, believe me when I tell you that I feel fit and active in this swimsuit AND the jiggly ladies stay put, which is something that I look for in my swimwear. The quality is top notch so I have a feeling that this piece will be in my swimsuit rotation for quite the foreseeable future. Also, don’t you feel like it’s sort of Bond Girl-esque?  I probably have more swimsuits than I have a need but with all the options over at EFS, I might just have to add some more to my collection. Not only do they carry almost any swimsuit style you can imagine, the also offer full lines of beachwear, coverups and lingerie. At affordable prices and with a rockin’ selection, I will be sure to keep an eye on the team over at Elite Fashion Swimwear this season and seasons to come.
