Sarah-Jean is a housewife, mother to a beautiful 2 year old, and self-dubbed fashionista who uses this blog to share advice and review products that can help moms stay fabulous. TFH is geared towards housewives and moms who want to look good, but don’t want to spend a lot. We know how it is when you need every extra penny to pay the rent, the mortgage or to just buy diapers!!! Remember, just because you are a mom doesn’t mean you need to resort to wearing sweatpants everyday. You be fashionable AND comfortable!

Here at The Fashionable Housewife, we believe that dressing fashionable and looking great doesn’t need to cost a fortune. In this blog, you’ll find tips on how to dress, what NOT to wear, the hottest trends, new products, sales & coupons, how to dress your Body Shape, and so much more!

While Sarah-Jean spends most of her time taking care of her network of blogs, she tries to spend her free time doing web design, yoga, guitar, photography, dancing, obsessively cleaning, listening to music, shopping, shopping, and more shopping.

She is also the mother of a vivacious and very intelligent 2 year old little girl who takes up most of her time! The joys of pregnancy and motherhood inspired her to start a sister site in 2007 dubbed The Fashionable Bambino to talk about fashionable maternity clothes, nursing, cloth diapering, cute kid’s clothes and more.

In August 2008, Sarah-Jean started The Fashionable Gal with the help of Laney Knapp. The blog is geared towards teens, college students, and young women who care what they look like but don’t want to spend a ton! You’ll find beauty tips, the latest trends in makeup and fashion, what NOT to wear, reviews of popular products, cosmetics, jewelry and so much more.

Sarah’s idol is Stacy London, from TLC’s “What Not To Wear”. Watching Stacy and Clinton turn frumpy moms into fashionable divas is what prompted her to start The Fashionable Housewife, a blog that subscribes to the motto that “moms should look good too.”

Introduction

The world of fashion and it’s designers is a competitive place full of confusion, pride, and most importantly, high prices! You don’t have time for the celebrity gossip and prissy blogs. You’re a housewife and maybe a mom too, and you don’t have time to sift through the magazines and blogs to find ‘what’s hot’. Afterall, you’re not a Carrie Bradshaw (anymore)! You still wouldn’t mind looking like one though, but you need a grownup approach to fashion.

If you have kids, the last time you dressed in style was probably when you were in your 20’s right? And who knows how long ago that was! (Don’t worry, we’ll never tell!) Fashion changes so fast, it’s hard to keep up with what’s okay, and what is definitely not okay. Even that names change! What you once called “Peddle Pushers” and “High Water Waders” are now “Capris” and “Cropped Pants”. Who has the time to keep up in today’s busy world? Not you! Well, welcome to the solution.

Here at The Fashionable Housewife we will keep you informed on what’s hot and what’s not, teach you how to pair basic items together to make a fantastic outfit, show you the best places to shop, and help you look fabulous on a budget! We will also do our best to tell you about the latest trends, show you where the best sales are, and even where you can get free samples of great items.

In addition, I will make public my shopping confessions, show you what I am wearing, and let you in on a some little known fashion secrets.
