Fall 2008 Shoe Trends: Loafers

Posted By: The Fashionable Housewife on October 03, 2008 at 6:27 am

Yeah, I know… the little old lady alert just went off in your head, but listen, we’re talking about fashionable loafers!

We’re still ringing in the Fall shoe trends and this is a hot one. We’re seeing a huge following of the Wide Leg Pants Trend and with all that extra material floating around, a sleek, stacked loafer is exactly what you want.

It lends a feminine yet professional-looking touch that can balance the toughness of the Menswear trend.

I decided this was one trend I could partake in! I am sick of getting cheap shoes and then wearing them once, getting blisters and shin splints and then throwing them into the back of my closet, never to be seen again. I’d rather have 1 pair of comfortable shoes for $100 then 5 pairs of uncomfortable shoes for the same price. So I may be downsizing my shoe collection soon, but I’m replacing them with good quality, comfortable shoes.

Here’s the loafers I bought last week:

Softspots “Masa”

What: Softspots Masa in Blackicon

If you haven’t tried on a pair of Softspots, you haven’t lived. They have Pillowtop Footbed Technology that cushions the soles of your feet with every step. I wore them last week to Babies R Us, then to Home Depot, then grocery shopping at Hanaford, and then out to eat at Bugaboo Creek. I literally felt like I was out in my slippers. I had to look down at my feet a couple times to be sure I was indeed wearing shoes! They’re just heavenly.

Price: $74.95

You can get the Masa loafers on Zappos for $79.00 Or you can get them from Onlineshoes.com for only $74.95.icon Both have free shipping!

Softspots “Safia”

What: Softspots “Safia” in Teak Winslowicon

I don’t need to tell you about the comfort of these babies because they are made by the same company as the shoes above. So they have the same Pillowtop Footbed Technology that’s like a little hug for your tender feet. I don’t know why it took me so long to find truly comfortable shoes that are actually comfortable. I have to thank Kirsten over at Barking Dog Shoes for heading me in the right direction!

These loafers are the perfect example of comfort and style. You finally can have it all!

Price: $74.95

You can get them on Onlineshoes.comicon or you can get them at 6pm.com for only $37.97 They are on sale right now for 50% off!!!

AMEN SISTER. You preach it. You know how I feel about comfortable, stylish shoes ;-) I hadn’t given Softspots a look lately, so thanks for reminding me about their awesome “pillow top” footbed.
