Fall 2009 Shoes & Footwear Trends
It’s no secret… I’m completely obsessed with shoes. I just realized this last weekend that I got 11 new pairs of shoes in August. I’m pretty sure I need a 12 step program…
And since I wasn’t able to fit Fashion Week NYC into my schedule this time around, I decided to have a little Fashion Week of my own here on The Fashionable Housewife and feature all my favorite Fall 2009 shoe trends all this week! If you love shoes as much as I do, you’re probably doing a little happy dance right now…
Timeless footwear is top trendy right now. The main trend for shoes this Fall 2009-Winter 2010 are Ankle Boots and Over-The-Knee Boots. I’m also loving that purple is going to be popular again this Fall.

- Knee High Boots
- Thigh High Boots / Over The Knee Boots
- Velvet
- Studs, zippers and oversized buckles
- Purple
- Ballet Flats & Low Heels
- Super High Platform Heels
In this economy, designers aren’t being as extravagant as they usually are. Simple and easy-to-wear styles are tres chic for Fall 2009.

I love the long, long, long boots trends for this fall. But I hate shoes like that black one with golden details.

(I’m following on twitter) I love the shoes you have featured. I’ve never worn knee high or thigh high boots…..although they look super cute, I dont think I could get away with wearing them. I would need some guidance on that one. I love buckles!!! Dont know why but its So hard to resist shoes with buckles. And Purple is my favorite color… I am looking forward to shopping for fall fashion clothes.

ballet flats and ankel boots are my favorites!! i’m so excited to start building my fall shoe collection! i just LOVE the velvet low heels!!! super cute!
