Fall 2009 Fashion Trends: Boyfriend Jeans
If you aren’t aware that Boyfriend Jeans are one of the biggest Fall 2009 trends, then you probably live under a rock.
They are incredibly comfortable, versatile, and easy to dress up or dress down, depending on your mood. It can be worked into the boho styled trend or roughed up with more of a menswear style. You can even rock this trend for evening with some fancy Crystal Studded Sandals as seen on the Balmain runway.
If you’re looking for some boyfriend jeans but don’t want to pay $220+ on the Current/Elliott The Boyfriend Jean, then you’re in luck because I found some Low-Rise Boyfriend Jeans
you can get for only $50 at Delias.com.
The cheapest pair I could find was on Sears.com for only $30. They call them Fragile Boyfriend Jeans. I hope they aren’t actually fragile though…
If you’re open to spending $128 for a pair, check out the Boyfriend Jeans in Santiago Wash from Guess.com. Pricey, but really nice looking!
And if you want boyfriend jeans without the rips and distress, try a pair from Victoria’s Secret. You can get their new Boyfriend Jean for less than $60.
I found a pair of bleach washed Boyfriend Jeans from American Eagle for $39.50 and a cute pair of Destroyed Skinny Crop Jeans and Ripped Boy Fit Jeans, both for $49.50.
Anyone can wear this trend. You don’t have to be a stick figure to make this trend work. Boyfriend style ripped jeans look good most body shapes and sizes. If you need plus-sizes, you’re in luck because Torrid has a Light-Wash Rolled-Cuff Boyfriend Denim Jean for only $52.00. They are really cute too!
Ways to wear this Trend:
Basic – A solid colored tee and simple shoes like Ballet Flats or Booties with minimal jewelry or a scarf. Pair with a simple cardigan or a cool Boyfriend Jacket.
Boho – Wear a vintage top like a chiffon blouse or oversized tee with a vest and Lace-Up Boots. Long statement making earrings, no necklace, and a neutral woven belt works best. This is an easy outfit to put together for running errands during the week or relaxing all weekend.
All American – Try a simple, light colored plaid of check shirt, tucked in with a brown vintage belt. Pair with worn-in flats and a short scarf. Keep jewelry minimal. Earrings or a few layered bangles would be appropriate.
Glam – Fitted blouse or tee with a cropped tuxedo blazer and a pair of gorgeous Crystal Studded Sandals or red pumps.
