Are You A Makeup Person?

Posted By: Jackie Ayres on September 03, 2009 at 3:00 pm

I have recently been introduced to the wonderful world of makeup. I was never a girl who loved makeup. In fact, I recall all those times I had to go to a sweet sixteen or wedding and my mom was always telling me to use some lipstick. I guess I always had in my mind that makeup was either for old or ugly people (laughing hard). What a mistake to think like this! Although I still believe that you should start using tons of makeup if you are too young (let’s say before 19 or so). Most girls just need to learn how to work with their natural beauty.

I’ve been working at one of the best Makeup and Cosmetology schools in NYC. And the short time I’ve been there, I’ve learned so much about makeup! Not only makeup, but makeup, skin, beauty, trends…

The one thing I’ve come to admire is the “Natural Makeup”. It’s wonderful. Doesn’t make you look like you have makeup on, it basically enhances your God’s given beauty. A good example:

And this extremely cute makeup to the left is great to use during the day!

Of course, me being a fashion designer, amateur photographer and aspiring makeup artist, love the “Couture Makeup”. This is our chance to make art on pretty faces. But don’t think of Couture Makeup as a runway thing only. This is an example of Couture inspired makeup:

So, what kind of makeup do you like? Do you like it at all? Share your thoughts and opinions via comments. They are always welcome and appreciated. ;)

I love it but I’ve never learned to put it on properly or what colors are best for me. I do alright on my own but I’d love to learn how to really enhance my features.

I am pretty natural with my make up but am addicted to mascara!

  3. 3. Mel Says:

I love makeup. I’ve had a pretty uniform look for the past 6 years ago (black or brown eyeliner, light brown eyeshadow, mascara, and some blush), but I’m starting to branch out with a bit of color, which has been fun! Nothing too crazy like light blue, but I’ve especially liked trying out purples and greens.

  4. 4. Gail Says:

I am a total make-up girl!! And I don’t care if it looks like I am wearing make-up. I pay good money for it, I’d like for people to notice.

I’m a make up person! I wish I could put it on better myself…so I guess I should say I am a make up buying person! On an every day basis i go for the more natural look…I like to use the Arbonne tinted moisturizer during the day. it really evens out my skin and I just put it on like moisturizer! But if i have an event or am going out for the evening I like to experiment. It certainly doesn’t look the professoinals. sometimes I pay to have it done if i’m gong to a wedding or something..and when I do that I feel so pretty. Personally I think I need someone to blow out my hair and do my make up every day!
