TJ Maxx may sometimes sell in season items in its women's departments but when you take the stroll over to the men's then we'll talk. Most of the men's department is way behind style and season. Many items such as the Ralph Lauren Polos and the young men items from places like American Eagle or Abercrombie are so far behind in style and season you cannot walk into their mall counterparts and find the merchandise on displays or on clearance racks within the store. Normally because when TJ gets the deal on AE its by the pound. Normally I assume the buyer is unaware of what is in the pound they buy. With the recession people working in larger upscale stores have filled me in that clothing for men have been cut back esp in the higer end brands keeping TJ Maxx from buying those new and in season and style clothing from Ralph Lauren and DKNY. Thus keeping TJ at a more disadvantage to its mall stores and department stores. It's men's department at many stores look empty or disorganized due to the buyers not being able to buy anything for them. Of course the women's departments are going to be socked full its who they sell to. Why should TJ accomidate men in a women's setting?
