Fall 2008 & Winter 2009 Trends: The Bob Hairstyle
Bobs and Bangs
Also known as “The Sexiest Hair Style of 2008″!!
The precision bob hair cut is huge this year, coupled with smooth, sleek styling, a blunt fringe and heaps of shine. Super sexy!
Your bob should be carefully crafted to maximize the effect of the style. Find a shape that will accentuate your unique facial structure, or highlight a long, beautiful neck.
This versatile style can range from ear length to shoulder skimming. It’s best for straight or slightly wavy hair. Perfect for fine hair because it adds fullness and prevents the straggly look fine hair can have when it gets too long.
A bob hair cut is not always all-one-length.
The “graduated” version, which is layered at the edges, gives this style a rounded shape, adding more volume to the top and sides.
And to add even more drama, opt for a “diagonal forward” slant (cut shortest in the back and angled down to longer lengths at the front), or crafted into an asymmetric hair cut, which is very hot right now. See Victoria Beckham’s style for an example.
“The Katie Holmes” is what every hair dresser is getting as a request these days. Short, tapered, with fringe bangs. So carefree and sexy.
Only opt for the bangs with this hair style if it works with your facial structure. A heavy fringe can be overwhelming on those with a short forehead or small, close-set eyes.
Your stylist should be able to help you find the perfect bob for your face, hair and lifestyle.
And if you’re feeling a little more groovy baby… incorporate a mod feel into your bob hair cut.

i had middle length hair until i decided to bleech my hair, ALOT because i did this my hair was a complete mess with fuzzy ends, split ends galore, and it all falling out. i had no choice but to go quite short, its just a plain cut no style, now its short i really want it to be shaped and styled well. accept at the front i had to short peices that i used to have down when i had long hair and there just not growing. this is preventing me from having the style i want. HELP. what do i do?

Hayley, just be patient. Your hair will grow before you know it and you’ll be able to have almost any hair style you want. Meanwhile, use a wax or pomade and add a lot of texture to your short haircut. This will add dimension and shine!
