Fall 2008 Trends: Menswear

You definitely want to get on board with the menswear trend! Pair wide-leg trousers, with oxfords or Mary Jane platform shoes. A flowing, billowy blouse and cute beret will add a feminine touch. Or you can try wearing a cute vest and oxford shirt with a cute pair of peep-toe pumps. Serious hats and ladylike gloves are coming back into style too, but I wouldn’t get too carried away with the hat trend beyond classic styles.

From boyfriend cardigans and wide-leg pants to baggie jeans and oxfords, it seems like we’re taking fashion tips from the boys this year. Be careful wearing this trend though. Remember to offset your masculine pieces with something a bit more feminine like ruffled blouses and luxe fabrics.

Here are some of our favorite menswear-inspired pieces:

Women: 3/4-sleeved ruffle-front top - green plaid

Women: Women's Deep V Argyle Vests - Pink Argyle

Long Boyfriend Sweater

Women's shoes: Unlisted by Kenneth Cole Club Style - Black

High Waisted Plaid Skirt

Women: The perfect trouser - black

BCBGirls - Kaola (Chocolate/Cream Soft Box Calf) - Footwear

Stay tuned for more Fall 2008 and Winter 2009 trends…

I really like these pieces. Feminine yet not too manly.
