Things To Look For When Buying New Shoes

Shoe shopping1. Padding – Make sure the shoe has a fully padded insole. As we get older, we all lose some of the padding in the balls of out feet where we carry up to 7 times our body weight! Do your feet a favor and spring for shoes with cushioned insoles.

2. Heel Height – Don’t buy high heels online if you aren’t used to wearing them and walking in them. You’ll probably end up disappointed. Take a trip to the shoe store to try on a pair of shoes you’re skeptical about and make sure to test them out on hard floors. Carpeting makes shoes feel comfier than they actually are. You always want to make sure the soles aren’t slippery.

3. Splurge – When it comes to shoes, you get what you pay for. Get shoes at Payless and you’ll probably wear them once and end up with blisters. Comfortable shoes cost more because of the extra padding and the technology that goes behind making them easy to walk in. Scrimp on clothes and accessories, but not on your shoes. A cheap necklace or inexpensive blouse won’t permanently damage your feet, legs, and back!

4. Style – Choose form over fashion when it comes to the heels. Wedges are more comfortable, more slip resistant and easier to run in than stilettos. Round toe shoes are better for your toes than pointy, so try to avoid shoes that pinch your feet or mold them into anything but their natural position.
