They have a wonderful collection of grown-up looking and affordable swimsuits with prices around $22.99 for bottoms and $29.99 for tops. I’ve checked out a lot of swimwear collections in the past month and this is by far, my favorite.
I was lucky enough to receive the gorgeous Mediterranean Tank in Giraffe Print with the matching Crystal Cove Bikini Bottoms to review here on the blog. I was impressed with the construction, style and fit of both pieces, not to mention the gorgeous print!
I love subtle, neutral prints when it comes to swimwear. I mean, I like to have fun in the summer, but I also don’t want to look like a neon bursting floral sign! I think the only girls that can really get away with wearing those screaming prints are the young skinny gals. Us moms need to wear something a little more sophisticated and the DownEast Basics swimwear collection meets that need perfectly.
The top provides great coverage and excellent support. I’m about a 34B right now and I got a size small which fit perfectly. I am a little bigger on the bottom (4/6 in jeans), so I got a size medium and that fit perfectly. It fit great, kept my back end covered and didn’t ride up. I usually have a hard time getting swimsuits that fit properly (apparently Victoria’s Secret has never seen a woman with a butt!) but I didn’t have that problem with this one at all.
