Tips And Tricks For Sunless Tanning

Getting a healthy glow is just a tube of sunless tanner away! Follow these tips and tricks to make the most out of your sunless tanner…

1. Avoid shaving and then applying sunless tanner. Whether you shave or wax, complete your hair removal methods the night before you plan to apply the sunless tanner to avoid irritating skin and pores.

2. Exfoliate!! This is super duper important and frequently forgotten. Do double duty slimming your thighs and exfoliating your skin with Bliss fatgirlscrub, a potent skin polisher. 3. For best results, wear a black bathing suit while applying sunless tanner. That way you won’t apply it where no one will see and you won’t stain your clothes.

4. If you are new to using sunless tanners, don’t use a spray. They are very difficult to apply evenly and you may get discouraged and give up on sunless tanner forever. Trust me, I did that once… Took me about 4 years before I was willing to try sunless tanners again!

5. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying sunless tanner. Pay special attention to your cuticles and nails where it can get stuck. It will turn a lovely shade of orange that will last a lot longer than your all over body tan…

6. Five to ten minutes after applying a sunless tanner, rub areas such as elbows, knees and ankles with a little lotion to lighten the effect. These area with thin skin will soak up the sunless tanner quickly and can become too dark. If you’re very worried about this happening, apply lotion on those areas before the sunless tanner and blend well!

7. Start with a light – medium sunless tanner before you move on to the medium – dark sunless tanner. Wait at least 24-48 hours before applying another coat of any sunless tanner. It takes up to 24 hours to see the full results from any sunless tanner. Better too light than too dark!

8. If you don’t want your “tan” to get too dark, apply a nice lotion like Dove Energy Glow with subtle self-tanners in it to help keep your glow without darkening it.
