Rain, rain go away! Come again another day! On second thought, don’t come back till Fall. I’ve just about had it with all this rain. It’s only been sunny here in the Northeast for like 3 or 4 days in the last 4 weeks. I’m going stir crazy!!!
I’ve worn my rain boots more in the last month than I have my sandals. That is so unfair! I started to get stumped on what to wear with rain boots, so decided I should put together a few outfit inspirations in case I’m not the only one donning rain boots these days…
Do you have a pair of rain boots, but you can never figure out what to wear them with? Sure they are great for rainy days, but throwing on your rain boots instead of your stilettos might not work…
Here are a few rainy day outfits to help you figure out what to wear your rain boots with!
You can definitely wear skirts with rain boots. A medium or long trench coat looks great, but don’t bare your legs unless it’s a warm rain. Opaque tights are best, but nylons are acceptable. Build your entire outfit around the rain boots, so it looks like you wore them on purpose, instead of just because you didn’t want to ruin your other shoes. Rain boots give you the chance to create a funky outfit like the red one above!
Tuck skinny jeans into your rain boots and add a splash of color with a bright scarf or handbag. Don’t be too matchy matchy though! Mix it up with an alternate colors of nail polish and eyeshadow for a bold rainy day look!
There are so many different ways to wear rain boots with your everyday outfits. Just switch it up and see what happens! Have fun with it! Don’t try to over analyze every details. Bright pops of color go a long way…

While there are lots of patterns like polkadots, stripes, flowers, and plaids I’ve found that solid color rain boots are the easiest to coordinate with a lot of different things in my wardrobe. The advice about tights is right on, but I have worn them with nylons, too. For colder months get a pair or welly warmers.
