I think Givenchy scored big time with their new Summer 2009 collection. The warm cheek and lip shades and cool metallic colors for eyes are great for any skin tone. This is one makeup collection that proves to be versatile and a great buy for everyone.

Givenchy Prisme Again! Compact Powder Quartet in Sun Mango is a stunning quartet for lighter complexions.

This limited edition powder evens out the complexion with a light, transparent, matte surface and two luminous colors to create an irresistibly radiant and healthy looking complexion. Elegant and discreet, this two-level case also contains a mirror and a brush.

I like this powder because it’s not heavy, doesn’t settle in the creases and wrinkles, and the “Sun Mango” is the perfect shade for skin. I lightly dust it all over my face, after foundation, and put a little extra around the apples of my cheeks for a natural sun-kissed look. It makes my face look like it supposed to…

Givenchy Prisme Again! Compact Powder Quartet in Sun Cinnamon is a radiant quartet for darker complexions or tanned skin.

Like the Sun Mango Quartet above, it’s light, transparent, and leaves your skin radiant and healthy looking. I like using this one on the apples of my cheeks instead of blush for a glowing day-time look. For night, I add a little blush on top and it looks perfect. Both Prisme Again! Visage Powder Quartet’s have a light fragrance of Radiant Blossom.

Givenchy Prismissime Mat & Glow in Sun Caramel is a summertime checkerboard of colors to add a sunny glow to the face.

This fabulous compact of 9 face powders imparts just the right touch of caramel to the complexion. Choose your texture—matte or pearly—to match your mood and personalize your luminous look. Blend, shade, or apply in touches for a variety of sculpting, illuminating, and perfecting effects. The nine shades can be mixed together or applied separately to the face, eyes, or shoulders.

I take a large powder brush and mix all 9 shades in a circular motion and apply all over my face and neck. With or without foundation, I end up with a glowing, natural complexion. There are so many possibilities with this palette that I really wish it came with a small instruction manual with a few “looks” you can create with this fabulous compact. This is definitely my favorite products in the Givency Summer 2009 Collection.

Givenchy Pop Gloss Crystal in Sun Coral is warm peachy pink shade with white, red and gold sparkles. Not high-school glitter mind you… It’s more of a delicate shimmer that is appropriate for all ages.

I really like this lip gloss because it feels very soft, smells and tastes nice and looks great! Coral is the IT color for Summer and I think this particular shade is a must-have. It’s flattering for almost any skin tone and can go with many outfits. Since this is a limited edition lip gloss, you want to get your hands on it before it’s sold out! Givenchy Pop Gloss also comes in another new limited edition shade called “Sun Rose” which is a warm orange shade with a gold undertone.

Final Thoughts…

I love the warm, luxurious shades in the Givenchy Summer 2009 Collection. These great bronzers and other warm colored products are just perfect for creating this summer’s hottest looks. My only complaint with the Givenchy Summer 2009 Collection is the price. I do love the powders and the lip gloss, I just wish they weren’t so expensive. Out of all of them, I think the one that is probably the most bang for you buck is the Givenchy Prismissime Mat & Glow Powders. Both Sun Mango and Sun Cinnamon are very flattering quartets that you can use year round. The Lip Gloss would be my next favorite. While it’s a fabulous gloss that lasts, smells great, and looks fabulous, i do wish the tube was a wee bit bigger for the price. The .21oz probably won’t last you more than 2 or 3 months of regular use. It’s a great splurge just for summer wear though!
