If you’re looking for the best way to get rid of acne, blemishes and pimples naturally, then I have some good news for you! Burt’s Bees has just released the Natural Acne Solutions 3-Step Regimen Kit.

Their website says…

Natural Acne Solutions™ products are the only truly natural* acne solution clinically proven to reduce and prevent acne. This 3-step regimen kit is dermatologist tested and won’t irritate skin or clog pores. It contains a cleanser, moisturizer and spot treatment that are gentle enough to use every day, but incredibly effective, thanks to hard-working willowbark extract. So skip the synthetics and go straight to the natural source. *Certified by the Natural Products Association

If you’re a long time fan of this blog then you know all about my struggle with acne. Very few products have helped keep my acne at bay and I’ve tried literally dozens of products over the years. I expected Burt’s Bees to be a nice kit of natural products, but I really didn’t expect it to do much for my acne. And since I haven’t had good luck in the past with acne products containing salicylic acid, I didn’t expect this to go well.

The kit includes the following:

  • Purifying Gel Cleanser (5 fl oz) – Step 1
  • Full-size Daily Moisturizing Lotion (2 oz) – Step 2
  • Full-size Targeted Spot Treatment (0.26 fl oz) – Step 3

I also got to try the Burt’s Bees Refining Facial Scrub as well.

The Cleanser:

They say: This soothing natural cleanser is clinically proven to help wash away acne causing bacteria, excess oil and impurities without over-drying or irritating skin. Salicylic acid, derived naturally from willow bark extract, penetrates pores to help reduce acne and prevent future breakouts. Evening primrose and beet root extracts also help soothe acne prone skin resulting in clear and healthy-looking skin, naturally. Dermatologist tested. Noncomedogenic. Directions For Use: Wash face in the morning and evening avoiding the eye area. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.

I say: It’s pretty standard as far as gel cleansers go. A moderate amount of foaming, mild scent, washes off easily and amazingly, doesn’t dry out your skin. Most cleansers with salicylic acid dry my skin out really, really bad. This one, however, did not. Even after several days of use. That is the one thing that impressed me the most.

The Moisturizing Lotion:

They Say: This natural light weight lotion is clinically proven to help control oil and protect against blemishes without irritating skin. Formulated with Lemongrass, Witch Hazel, Goldenseal and Hops to help soothe and calm irritation, resulting in clear, smoothing, and healthy-looking skin, naturally.

I Say: Weird smell! It was a bit disconcerting at first, but I got used to it after a few days. It really is an excellent moisturizer. Not greasy at all and didn’t make my skin break out like most moisturizers. I usually can’t even wear makeup because it amplifies the dry, faking skin left over from most acne cleansers. Such is not the case this this system. The cleanser doesn’t dry out my skin and the moisturizer hydrates my skin to completely avoid dry, flaking skin all together.

The Spot Treatment:

They Say: This natural spot treatment is clinically proven to help reduce and improve the appearance of blemishes without irritating skin. Formulated with Tea Tree, Calendula, Yarrow, and Parsley Extracts to help soothe skin and reduce redness and Borage Extract to promote healthy skin resulting in clear and smooth skin, naturally.

I Say: Again, the smell was a bit much. It definitely takes some getting used to! Also, I’m not crazy about the application. I wish this has been in a rollerball for easier application. I end up dropping a small amount in the palm of my hand and then using the tip of my finger to dot it on any pimples or blemishes. I also dot a bit on my nose in the hopes of annihilating any blackheads that exist.

The Scrub:

They Say: This deep cleansing scrub is clinically proven to exfoliate dead skin cells while refining the appearance of pores without over-drying or irritating skin. Salicylic Acid, derived naturally from Willow Bark Extract, penetrates deep into pores to help reduce acne and prevent future breakouts. Formulated with Jojoba Beads and a natural Fruit Acid Complex, to provide gentle exfoliation resulting in refined, clear and smooth skin, naturally.

I Say: I don’t know about “deep cleansing” but this is the best smelling of the 4 products. I wish that it had a little more “scrub” to it, so I could really feel like it was working. Surprisingly though, it performed as well as other, more intense, facial scrubs I’ve used. Even though you don’t feel it scraping the dry skin off your face, it works extremely well without irritating your skin. This is probably my favorite product. Unfortunately it doesn’t come included in the actual kit!

Overall, I think these 4 products are great, very effective and reasonable priced at around $10 – $15 for each item. The Burts Bees Acne Full Size Regimen Kit includes the cleanser, spot treatment and moisturizing lotion and costs only $30.00.

The 3-step kit and the scrub can be purchased on www.burtsbees.com and www.Amazon.com. Hopefully, it will soon be available on Drugstore.com as well.
