Review: Covergirl LashBlast Mascara

Posted By: The Fashionable Housewife on March 25, 2008 at 12:20 pm

Every woman wants Clump-Free Mascara and there are a lot of companies that claim that their mascara is clump free. Most of them aren’t really clump free though.

I used to tell myself, “Well, maybe I’m not putting my mascara on right.” I’ve spent many years trying different mascaras, looking for the absolute best one.

Most of you probably know that up till now, my favorite mascara has been Max Factor Volume Couture Mascara in “Black”. It has that new rubber brush design that applies the mascara evenly without clumping, the color is great, and it doesn’t flake off during the day.

I’m not usually a fan of Covergirl products. I actually wasn’t impressed with many of their products for several years. But the last year or two, they’ve really turned me around.

The new Covergirl LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara in “Black” is amazing. This one has a rubber brush like Max Factor, but it’s much fatter. The container is quite large, so I find that it takes a little more finesse to apply, but in the end produces an even less clumpy lash than Max Factor. I have a new favorite!!

I have very thin, sparse eyelashes and if I don’t wear mascara, you can’t even tell that I have eyelashes. So now, it’s the one thing I won’t leave the house without, even if I’m going swimming. Thank goodness Covergirl also made a waterproof version of LashBlast! (Look for the blue label.)

I have found that many times, the waterproof version of mascara is thinner and is almost sticky when applying it. But the LashBlast waterproof mascara applies the same and looks just as good as the non-waterproof version.

So yes, I must say that Covergirl LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara is my new favorite. I hope that they will improve the container, as that is my only complaint. The product itself is nearly flawless and makes my eyelashes look great every time.

See?

My mascara is Covergirl LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara in “Black”, my eyeliner is MAC Fluidline in “Blacktrack” applied with the 208 Small Angled Brow Brush, and my eyeshadow is MAC Fafi Paint Pot in “Nice Vice” and “Perky”.

I tried this and I didn’t like it at all. Mine came in a two pack….want me to send it to you? LOL It made my lashes look spiky and sparse, which I cannot stand. My faves are still Clinique High Impact Mascara and Loreal mascaras. They both give me the long, full feathery look I adore =)

I love this mascara, too! I haven’t tried the waterproof kind yet but I rarely ever need to wear waterproof. I have long eyelashes and a lot of them and this mascara doesn’t give me spider eyes. I love that the brush is nice and big.

Yeah, this mascara doesn’t give me spider eyes either. I should try the Clinique or L’Oreal mascaras you speak of, Cindi.

Have either of you tried the Max Factor mascara???

    SJ-

I tried the Lash Blast again this morning- still not a fan- I just don’t care for the rubber brush or how stiff my lashes feel.

I have not tried Max Factor. I really love my Clinique- I’ve been using it for years. My two faves with Loreal are Voluminous & Double Extend. I also use Origin’s Underwear for lashes.

Hi there – Hope you’ve been doing well!

I have tried so many drugstore masacaras and wasn’t happy until I tried this one. So far so good! I like the way it makes my lashes clump-free. But the weird thing is I loved DiorShow at the beginning and then a month later it started to clump on me. Go figure!
