Are you one of those kind of gals that just grabs some cotton undies from that “famous” bra store and call it a day? You know the ones I mean… Everyone seems to think just because they say “Pink” on them that somehow they are sexy and flattering. Wrong, cupcake!
Just because your underwear are tiny doesn’t mean they are sexy, so just get that nonsense out of your head. There are times to wear a thong and times you probably shouldn’t. Wisdom is knowing the difference!
Today, let’s have a grown up talk about the different types of panties for different outfits and why you should have a few different styles of panties in your underwear drawer.
What To Wear With Low Rise Jeans
Super low rise jeans are not a popular trend these days, but some still choose to wear low rise jeans. If low rise jeans are your jam, you need a pair of Warner’s No Pinching, No Problem Lace-Trim Hipsters. They are perfect for wearing under all your low rise or mid rise jeans. They stay put, don’t give you a wedgie, and protect your bottom from itchy tags and rough seams.
Some of my other favorite low rise undies include bikinis and hipsters too!
What To Wear With High Rise Jeans
It’s time to stop thinking that only old ladies wear high rise briefs. Just because you are young does not mean that your underwear should not come up to your belly button. There are many occasions when underwear can and should come up to your belly button and the day you are rocking your high rise jeans is one of those times!
Low rise underwear with high rise jeans can not only be quite uncomfortable but they can cause you to need to hike up your pants, fix your wedgie and don’t even get me started on those damn itchy tags in the back of jeans. Forget all that and just buy some nice, soft, high rise underwear to protect all your sensitive bits from harsh denim.
My favorite high rise undies are hands-down Warner’s No Pinching, No Problem Modern Briefs. They come in 12 different colors, including some cute prints, they have a wide, comfortable waist band, and best of all, no wedgies. These are seriously some of the most comfortable underwear I own. You’ve got to try them!

What To Wear With Leggings, Yoga Pants And Other Activewear Bottoms
This is when you can wear a thong! Look for ones without frills, lace or bows because those will show through clothes and not in a good way. A perfect thong to wear with leggings, yoga pants and other tight-fitting activewear bottoms is the Maidenform Comfort Devotion Tailored Thong.
Here are some more no-frills, seamless choices…
Since many will argue that leggings should not be worn as pants, visible panty lines poking through obviously will not help your case. Not only do visible panty lines look sloppy but it can be quite a distraction to those that look at you. If you are wearing leggings or yoga pants, chances are you’d rather have people notice how well all those squats are paying off, not that fact that your old, cotton panties are twisted, bunched up and making visible lines through your pants.
If thongs are not your things, instead opt for undies with a no panty-line promise! There are plenty of underwear that offer more coverage than a thong and will still look clean and seamless under tight-fitting bottoms.

What To Wear With Bodycon Dresses & Pencil Skirts
Even if you are totally in shape and a size 2, it’s still a good idea to wear shapewear under pieces like tight-fitting bodycon dresses or pencil skirts. Any dress or skirt that is fitted will look immensely better with smoothing shapewear underneath. There is a misconception that shapewear is just for overweight people, but that is simply not true. Even celebrities wear shapewear under their dresses at the awards ceremonies. Shapewear just smooths everything and makes it look better. No lines, no bumps, no bulges.
No one needs to know that you are bloated from an impending period. Shapewear and control briefs can slim your waist, smooth your hips, provide tummy control, life your butt and more. It’s always good to have a small selection of shapewear pieces on hand to go with everything in your wardrobe. I personally would recommend that every woman have a pair of classic and well-beloved Spanx Mid-Thigh Shaping Shorts.

What To Wear With White or Semi Transparent Bottoms
If you want to rock white jeans or pants this spring, please be careful which underwear you choose! Nothing worse than looking at a woman’s white backside to see the color, style and print of her underwear right through the pants. Don’t be that butt!!!! Carefully choose seamless styles in a color that matches your SKIN tone, not what matches the pants! Do not wear white underwear under white pants!
There are many nude / skin color tones to choose from at Kohl’s so take your time and consider shopping in-store to find your perfect match!
