A Fashionable Year in Review

2009 marked a year of great fashion firsts for the plus size woman AND the plus size community.  If it hasn’t been declared already, 2009 marked the turning point for the Curvy Revolution- if I may call it so. The new cover is a step in the right direction. Although I would not call these models “plus size”, I do like the fact that these girls have rolls of fat like most real women do. Stuff just happens as you age. With all of the changes a woman’s boby goes through in the course of her lifetime, rolls are normal.
You may see some women who go to the gym all the time who look toned and fantastic, but while I want to be healthy, I don’t want to be a slave to anything.
Look around ladies! You don’t see men usually obsessing over their bellies. Why should we?

I always thought the same thing…the plus size models are always on the lower end of plus! It’s really frustrating when you look at catalogs and stuff for plus size clothing and there are regular size women modeling. What is that all about?! How are you supposed to know how it would really look.

It’s about time that plus sized women get recognized in women’s magazines, especially Glamour.I am so tired of seeing bone thin models.

I would definitely not consider these women plus size but more an average body type. The trend I have recently seen in magazines has started to go more towards the everyday women – curves and all – I love it. When I see a more healthy body type wearing clothes in magazines I can better determine what will look good on me.
