My Attempt To Make A Smokey Eye
Don’t talk to me about the hair! I know it’s a mess!!
I’m on the way to the Salon right now to get it fixed.
I haven’t been since November, so it’s a hot mess!
You can click to enlarge that one to see the detail.

To prep, I applied a light layer of the best stuff on earth – Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Eyeshadow Base.
To create this look, I used Dimitri James Runway Ready Collagen Boost Firming Eyeshadows Palette “Warm Formal”. See below…
First, I applied the silvery white eyeshadow (1.) as a base. Then I slowly blended the plum purple eyeshadow (2.) from lashes up to the crease. I followed with some more blending of the black shadow with sparkles (3.) around the lashes and towards the crease.
Then I used the MAC Small Angle brush #208 to blend PlantLove Eye Shadow in “Dove” right into the lashline like an eyeliner on the top and bottom lashline. (It’s the perfect gray for creating a smokey eye. )
I lined my eyes, top and bottom with CARGO Eye Pencil Eyeliner in Black. It’s soft texture allows for easy application without skipping so I get a perfect line every time.
Then I applied 2 layers of MAC Fiber Rich Mascara.
On my lips, I have MAC Pro Longwear Lustre Lipcolor in “Luv-4-Ever”.
So what do you ladies think? Did I accomplish a good smokey eye or should I keep practicing?

I love Urban Decay! One of the many brands that rule my life!! Good job on the eye, it’s really tricky to get right. I usually go a bit darker with my top color, but you nailed it!

Oh I can’t live without that primer potion. It’s the best! I also just got the new Urban Decay Purple Haze Smoke Out Eye Pencil, but haven’t figured out how to use it yet…
Thanks for the compliment! I think it looks much darker in person. I feel like my eyes look very dark right now, but when I look at the pictures, it’s barely noticeable. Maybe the flash washes it out a bit?

I think you did a fantastic job.

I love your look, your eyes look impeccable – your skin looks like porcelain, too. What do you think about the smokey eye for the over forty set? I know not to use shimmer on my eyes, but I just don’t know how trendy I can get…

You are just flawlessly beautiful, damn you!
I think it looks great. Now try it with other colors! Green would look fantastic.

OMG GREEN?!?!?! Oh I don’t think I’m that brave…
I’m thinking of trying it with some more intense purples maybe…
But green?! Ooooh, I’m nervous about that… I might have to practice some more first!

Shimmer can be used at the night time for make up dinner/night out. It give sparkles and open up your eyes a little.
Good technique, girl!

Dimitri, your products are excellent, please do not return to The Shopping Channel in Canada, without the Orchid Gel, since you were with Parthena, I use to buy same, it was a bit more purple, but works just as good. I really love this product, you carry a very good skin care product, and I purchase alot, Many I have not seen here in Canada though. We love you though keep them coming. The Orchid gel is so smooth, velvety, silky etc., you should do the necessary ingredient for the eye as well. I hope to see you soon, I haven’t seen your name up yet. How about giving us an excellent skincare, so they could use as The Showstopper, with Orchid gel, (full size) and think about the eye (orchid gel) feel as well. Just a suggestion. Thank you, will await your visit.
